Photography: Durbar Area of Nuwakot

Day 7, Kathmandu, Nepal

Nuwakot is located at far west-north of Kathmandu. King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha started the unification campaign from this region.

At that time, it was a colony of Kantipur and it was the western main gate to enter the valley. This place was also popular as the main route for trade with Tibet. The place is an important historical place. There is Durbar Area built by King Prithvi Narayan Shah.

Fortunately, I got opportunity to visit the area for two times. It was great feeling to observe the historical things. There is always opportunity to peer on past events. The surrounding scenery is so nice. Here goes some of the photos. The photos taken before earthquake. Currently the structures are not on good state...
