Photography: Mandap of Tihar (Festival of Lights)

Every year we celebrate Tihar. It is our second great festival. Which is also known as festival of lights. It falls generally on September end or on October. It is celebrated for 5 days so it is call Yamapanchak too. There will be worshiped of Crow, Dog, Cow, Ox, Goddess Laxmi and Bhai Tika (Worship brothers by their sisters). 

But as I am with Newar community, we celebrate Nepal Sambat New Year. And we celebrate Mha Puja. During Mha Puja and Bhai Tika we have to make Mandap (Mandala). It is made with different grains, colour and flowers. Every year I also have to make mandap. Here are some photos of mandaps designed by me…
